Three Steps Anyone Can Use to Destroy Division and Release Breakthrough Unity.

Have You Experienced Conflict With Others?

Have you ever experienced conflict with family members, co-workers, or even complete strangers? We’re talking arguments regarding the hot button issues of our day such as religion, racism, education, abortion, sexuality, which political party is right, or climate change?

It’s interesting that we have such deep and divisive experiences on these issues, especially since scripture states that if we can live in unity, then God commands a blessing.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. Psalm 133:1, 3b.

I Heard the Holy Spirit Speak

It was at a prayer and prophetic conference this weekend when we took a few minutes to wait in silence to hear what God would say to us. It was in this time that I strongly felt the Holy Spirit say that to the measure that we pursue the following three steps in our personal lives, our families, our churches, and other spheres of influence is the measure that we will receive power for breakthrough unity and the commanded blessing.

The Three Step Process for Breakthrough…

1. Declare Forgiveness Towards Anyone That Has Wronged You.

  • Because God has forgiven us much, we are required to forgive others, even when we’ve been personally wronged. This lesson is so important that Jesus says if we don’t forgive others, then he will not forgive us (Mat 6:14, 15).
  • Not only that, but if we don’t forgive those that have wronged us, then torturers are sent to plague us. (Mat 18:34, 35) THAT IS HUGE!!!
  • 2 Cor 2:10, 11 shows us that unforgiveness is the design, the scheme of the enemy to outwit us. When we forgive, the enemy is robbed of his power in a situation.

2. Personal Identification Repentance

In Daniel Chapter 9, we see that even though Daniel was not guilty of the sins of the Israelite people seventy years prior, he took personal responsibility for confessing their sins and repenting for them. (Daniel 9:5, 6…we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.)

It was this personal repentance for others that released the angelic host, Gabriel himself to bring revelation, insight, and strengthening to Daniel, as well as angelic advancements against the spiritual prince of Persia (Daniel 10).

3. Ask for God’s Mercy, Deliverance and Healing.

The Bible says that if we ask anything according to His will, then he hears us and we have the very thing that we ask (1 John 5:14, 15). Jesus commands us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Mat 6:10. In heaven God’s mercy, deliverance and healing are fully manifested and we can expect the same in response to our prayers. If we ask God, he answers us, seek solutions we will find them, knock on heaven’s door and the door to heaven’s resources is opened to us (Mathew 7:7-8).

It is to the measure that we renounce division and pursue God’s best, not only for ourselves, but for others that we will see God release breakthrough in our lives and the lives of those around us; even those people we don’t like. This process works because our battle is not against flesh and blood; other people (Eph 6:12). It’s against spiritual powers that seek to steal, kill and destroy. When we take up the weapons of our warfare, we will see victory and change come to our sphere’s of influence.

Take some time this week to do the following…

  • Ask God to show you the places of division that He wants you to bring to Him.
  • Go through the Three Step Process for Breakthrough
  • Watch the power of God change the world around you.

This is how we partner with God to see long lasting reformation.

Go with God.
